We here in Francis St. C.B.S. are extremely proud of our Student Council. It has been running for 6 years and is very well established. The boys on the Student Council have a very important role to play in our school. They give a voice to the students and work with the management and staff to improve our school. So far they have been on Den2 twice, have met the Ombudsperson for Children Emily Logan many times and have even met the President!

The Student Council is made up of 2 representatives from each class and they are elected each year by the students in a ‘first past the post’ system. Each boy on the council has a very important role and has very specific responsibilites. These responsibilites are as follows:

  • Listen to the concerns of students they represent
  • Report these concerns to the Student Council
  • Represent the Student Council in a responsible way
  • Work to make the school a better place for everyone

A Student Council member must be:

  • Reliable
  • Fair
  • A good listener
  • A good speaker
  • A good negotiator
  • A good leader

This is a list of some of the Student Council Achievements:
