A total of 24 schools competed at Irishtown Stadium today for the honour of representing Dublin at the Leinster Finals in Navan. An extremely young Francis Street side emerged as runners up from a very difficult group to qualify for the quarter finals. In a tightly fought contest a brilliant strike from Kevin M. sent the tie to a penalty shoot out. Goalkeeper Dean was the hero as he saved two penalties to send Franner into the semi finals. St Laurence O’Tooles, last years All Ireland Champions were the opposition for the semi final. Franner took the lead through a deflected shot from Kevin. However, O’Tooles responded with two goals to move into the final. Well done to all the boys involved not only for their football ability but also for their brilliant attitude and behaviour throughout the day.
