The hurlers of Franner have qualified for the semi finals of corn UiNeill with a hard fought victory over St Attracta’s on Tuesday. The game started at a ferocious pace with both teams giving it their all. Both teams defences were on top in the early stages and it took 15 minutes before the first score of the game arrived. Garreth, Jack, Alex and Kieran were outstanding in defence during this period. Franner clocked up two quick scores before half time a great point from Garreth and a goal from Byron to lead by two points. The second half continued in the same pattern as the first with both teams giving it their all. Joseph and Cian M were getting on top in midfield and both scored 1.1. However St Attractas never gave up and with a minute to go Franner only led by 2 points. St Attractas were awarded a free and had to go for goal to win the game but an outstanding save by our excellent Goalkeeper DJ ensured that Franner stayed in front and booked their place in the semis for the first time in over a decade. It was a great performance by the whole squad Luke , Anthony, Jamie D and Adam played brilliantly. The team can now look forward to the semi final after Easter. Thanks to Byron’s dad for his support. Well done boys the whole school is very proud of you.
