The Hurlers of Francis Street completed their season last Thursday with a hard fought victory over Synge Street in the final of the Corn Dolphin. The game was played in glorious sunshine and a fascinating contest took place. Synge Street scored an early goal but the boys from Franner were well on top all over the field. Anthony made 2 great saves to keep Franner in touch and the backs were playing out of their skins. Ryan, Jack Q, Lee, Alexander, Jamie and Graham made sure that Synge Street didn’t increase their lead. Luke  C and Robbie were starting to get on top in midfield and Damian, Daryl and Evan were causing their markers problems in the forward line. At halftime Synge Street led by that goal. The second half saw Franner take over and with the backs not being troubled Anthony came out of goal in search of a goal. The score the boys deserved finally arrived with Evan bundling the ball over the line. In the last minute Robbie added a point to break Synge Streets heart. Luke accepted the trophy on behalf of the team on what was a great day for the team. The school would like to thank Paul and Gerry and everyone in St Kevins GAA club for all their support during the year and look forward to working with you again next year.
